Sac Jazz Was Hoppin!
For those of you who did not attend the Sac Jazz Jubilee
trip this year, you missed one sizzlin’ event! 34 of your RSRC buddies, and 2
guests – Jim and Carol Britt (friends of Don and Marilyn Malito all the way
from Savannah GA) – converged on Downtown Sacramento for the 34th
Annual Jazz Jubilee over Memorial weekend. The consensus was that the event was
a total success. Everyone found something to do, a favorite band, favorite
venue, favorite drinking or dining establishment, favorite hiking/biking trail.
Most of us got together each morning at the hotel for breakfast, then we would
meet later in the day as a group at a particular venue to touch base, or at
dinner at Folsom’s Underground on Sunday night (Thanks! to Di for setting that
up). Quite a few people found the Swing Dancing venue at the Convention Center,
which was a short walk from the hotel. Even though Kimmie found a way to fall
off of her bike six or seven times, there were no serious injuries, and as far
as I know, no one had to be bailed out of jail!
So the vote is in from all who attended. We will definitely have to do this trip again next year! I am already working with the hotel to secure a room block! Hopefully next year, you can join us!
