A Good time was had by all
Yes, we did spend some time on the mountain

Well, it was a great trip overall! This trip was fairly easy to prepare, however there are always last minute challenges, changes, things that go wrong, things that go BUMP! As usual, the days just before departure, the phone rings off the hook, I am busy with lists everywhere, my living room looks like I am moving - ski stuff, ice chests, boxes and bags of food, luggage! Fortunately, everything went smoothly and there were few mishaps. I believe that everyone had a great time!
Most that participated in this trip went for the full 3 nights. The condominiums were new to us, were very nicely furnished, spacious, clean, etc. By the way, where was that elevator? We huffed, and puffed as we schlepped a carload of food and gear up 3 flights of stairs! We were tired even before we went skiing!! Little incidentals like stairs were quickly forgotten, because it was all SO MUCH FUN! -- Fun to be in Mammoth, fun to be out of town, fun to be with friends, fun to be skiing, and fun to be having fun!!
ONE CRASH REPORTED: Doug Coates Took a bump on the arm - well maybe a bit more than a bump, but an X-ray assured Doug that it was a bruise and not a break! Doug took the best (or worst) fall of the trip, by getting too near a cornice above Daves run, which broke, and resulted in tumbling, tumbling, tumbling to the bottom. Now, that is the version I was Told, however if you want the real facts, or the tumble, by tumble, you need to ask him, or Suzie Jacox - who happened to be with him!
We had a group dinner at our condo on Saturday night. Each condo had food assignments to go along with the main dishes which were prepared ahead of time. My roommates rearranged seating, which unbelievably, accommodated everyone comfortably! I am very grateful to my condo-mates for the help in cooking, clean up, rearrangement of furniture and overall moral support they provided!
Thanks to Gayle Sherman, Peter Callison, Park Arnold, Joel Marlowe, Ron Percivalle, John Fisher and my dear friend from Portland, Samy! You guys were the best!
And of course the Famous Angelina "Lips" contest !!
After dinner, I handed out awards, which amounted to me throwing things off of the stairwell at various recipients. It felt like a Groucho Marx routine, where I was pulling stuff out of the bucket and throwing them to the people in the room! We took pictures with the crazy eye glasses and wax lips! There was lots of laughter and we all had a great time! (Thanks to my son, Rob, for collecting all of that stuff from the various liquor and beer sponsors at his work-they made great prizes and hand outs!) Especially coveted was the glowing, light up Jaagermeister neck wear, first awarded to the King of Jaager - Ted Johnsen!

Thanks to everyone for making Mammoth another great memory. I can't wait to go again!!
I have had suggestions that we go earlier in the year so that we can try to get some real snow.  Of course, there is the potential of "real weather" that might go along with it. I would like your input, as I too, would like to try a winter trip to Mammoth. Tell me what you think, or pass your comments on to our trip chair, Gary Drew.
