Happiness is being Happy !!
Camp Cromberg had 80+ participants this year staying in tents, cabins, motorhomes, trailers, and you name it !! There were hikes, mountain bikes, golfing, kayaking, art festivals, campfires, movies, and other activities enjoyed by the participants. It can be considered a BIG success by any measure. We were sorry it had to end after the weekend.

For the second year in a row (and being widely requested as an annual trip) a large number of your fellow RS&Recrs enjoyed another weekend of fun, food , friends, and forest at Camp Cromberg on the weekend of August 14-17th. This year we had over 80 participants and once again took over the entire private camp, with 13 trailers, tents everywhere that we could find a flat spot, and all cabins full. Because we had the camp for 3 nights this year, as requested by last year’s group, we were able to have 2 movie nights thanks to the efforts of Dan Lutterman and his outdoor movie magic. We had another successful BBQ and potluck on Saturday night, and because we almost doubled last year’s crowd, we needed 4 BBQ chefs rather than last years 2…many THANKS to Peter Callison, Steve Kenzer, and Ron Chohamin - I couldn’t have pulled it off without you!
Another request from last year’s Crombergers was realized with all of the structured, pre-planned activities lead by trusy volunteer activity leaders…Sharon Engeldinger and Dan Tourville led a group of golfers in Graeeagle, Tom Reed led a hike to the Sierra Butte fire lookout, Ron Chohamin led the kayakers, Dianne Hilliard led the less strenuous hike around the lakes basin, and Suzie Jacox and John Himmel led the Sunday Brunch and hiking at Big Springs Gardens.( I led the lay in the hammock with a drink and relax group!)
All in all, it was once again a great weekend of camping for all involved…We are already looking at dates for next year, and have some ideas from this year’s attendees for how to make next year even more interesting…Book early, as once again this year we turned a few people away!!!!
