Message From Your Trip Chair

Places to Go, Things to Do, People to See!

Summer is beginning to wind down but we still have plenty of trips coming your way! First, I’d like to send a huge thank you to those who organized or led trips for August. Many thanks go to Kerry Schomer, Ron Chohamin and yours truly.

Please be sure to check out Todd’s article on the newly added camping trip for the end of September and Vin’s article on Sunnyside. With all of the local festivities during September we kept our trip schedule light. With the Rib Cook Off, Balloon Races, Air Races (our fundraiser) and Street Vibrations on the calendar; adding a camping trip will round the month out well. And, don’t forget Sunnyside!

I would really like some feedback on the types of trips you’d like to see the club do this year. I really thought the August trips would be better attended. I can only assume I missed the mark with the kind of trips they were. I was especially surprised the Squaw Valley hike didn’t have more participants. So, please let me know what you want to see in the line-up.

Mark your calendar for October: we hope to bring you a Tahoe excursion, the first weekend and I’m hoping someone will step forward to help run an overnight trip the third weekend.

I am still looking for a couple of people to run either an excursion or a weekend trip for October, November and December. If I don’t get some volunteers to help out, there may not be much on the calendar through the end of the year. Please give me a call at 771-9667 or e-mail me at lynnski2@peoplepc.com if you would like to help out or have any suggestions. Gotta run, things to do!
