Places to Go, Things to Do, People to See!

Hi y’all! Lynnski your Trip Chair here. I’ve got some thank you’s for July and some updates for the month of August and into the future.

ur only real trip for July was the Houseboat Trip. I’m sure it was a scorcher and I know everyone had a great time. A trip like this takes many helping hands to pull together.

A huge round of thanks go out to: Gary Rose, Trip Leader; his first mate and Houseboat Captain, Sherrie Rose and to Rob Turner, who assisted Gary with the trip organization and was brought an escort boat. Many thanks also go to: Sally Coullahan and Mark Murray, the other two houseboat captains and to the other escort ski boat skippers, Dianne Hilliard/Todd Betterton and Lynn and Jim Wilbur. Volunteers are the people who keep our club active; think about what you can do to help out this year!

On to August, we’ve got something going almost every weekend! Check out the rest of the newsletter for details on the Winemaker’s Dinner, Shakespeare (sold out), Squaw Valley Full Moon Hike and a newly added trip – Horseback Ride and Dinner at Zephyr Cove.

September is shaping up nicely also.

I really need a couple of people to run either an excursion or a weekend trip for October, November and December. Please give me a call at 771-9667 or e-mail me at lynnski2@peoplepc.com if you would like to help out or have any suggestions!

"For The Love of Hiking"

"For The Love of Hiking Group", is a group of individuals (many of whom are members of the Reno Ski and Recreation Club) who, for years, organize monthly hikes (along with camping in May-Sept.). Although these outings are not recognized Reno Ski and Recreation Club events, we are promoting them as a courtesy. For further information on this organization call Jackie Caudle, Renojacie@aol.com; 250-0061  (See Schedule)

Ski Club Logo clothing and paraphernalia ............

We now have the option to purchase clothing with our Reno Ski and
Recreation Club logo stitched on it. Our logo has been set up at North
American Embroidery, located at 435 Kietzke Lane in Reno. They have
some clothing available in the shop, but there are 2 catalogs full of
items to choose from. This includes jackets, vests, shirts, hats and
other items in a variety of styles and colors for men, women, and
children. If you purchase the clothing from North American Embroidery,
then there is no additional charge to have the logo stitched on. If you
prefer to bring in clothing that you already own, then the charge to add
the logo is approximately $8. You can also add your name for an
additional $5. It will be a fun way to promote our club, and these will
make great gift items, too.
